The Waiting is the Hardest Part

In our world of instant gratification and quick fixes, waiting is a process few of us are willing to experience on a daily basis. My daily commute proves that to me when I watch myself and many other drivers around me experiencing frustration because the people in front of us are driving more slowly than we want them to. As a culture, when we have a headache, we take a pill to get rid of it. When we want a new pair of shoes, we buy them. When we want a baby, we expect results quickly.

After some time has passed and there is no baby, the longing begins. When we long for a baby, the waiting is often the hardest part. It can seem like an eternity between cycles and the wait can wear a couple down when month after month disappointment and confusion arise. I remember well the confusion we experienced when we decided to begin a family and it just wasn’t working. Is it me? Is it him? Have I done something wrong? What if we can’t have children?

Hello world and Welcome to my first blog post!

Longing For A Baby became a reality when I began to reflect upon the need for support for all of my clients and the many women who call who are longing for a child of their own. There is hope and there is happiness in the journey.

Love is evident between the women and their babies in the photos of the template you see. It made me smile when I first saw it. It was different from the model I had envisioned originally and I think this brings out the joy in motherhood. Admittedly, there can be a deep sorrow in trying to achieve a pregnancy when all the pieces just don’t seem to be coming together the way we want them to.

It is my sincere hope that you will find some snip-its of wisdom from my training and years of experience helping women and couples during this incredible time of life.
